Job Description
You will support Block’s BSA/AML Officer and be responsible for managing our Global AML Policy & Program. You will work across centralized and business unit specific Compliance teams in the US and internationally to support alignment, consistency and best practices in anti-financial crime management across Block. In particular, you will bring best industry practices to Block in respect to AML Policy, Risk Assessment, Training, Model Risk Management Programs, KYC, transaction monitoring and product controls, and drive effective risk management practices across business units. You will engage with third parties, auditors, regulators and driving strategic enhancement projects.
You will join Block's Compliance Global Policy & Governance Leadership team and work closely with other members of the Block Compliance Leadership and Regulatory Counsel teams.
You will:
- Maintain Block’s Global AML Policy and Program documentation, setting and maintaining the specific minimum standards for controls that are required across all business units
- Provide senior leadership with advice and guidance concerning, AML related industry developments, trends, risks, issues, and incidents
- Provide input and expertise into data led AML/CFT risk assessment processes and manage specific projects aligned to risk management practices
- Review and decision exceptions in relation to the Global AML Policy and Program on behalf of the BSA/AML Officer
- Build and maintain successful relationships both internal and external to Block
- Establish credibility with, and present and explain the program to, state, federal, and international regulators and partners
- Partner with Regulatory Counsel, Audit / Exam teams and Internal Audit on AML/CFT related audits and examinations
- Work with the dedicated Compliance Engineering and Technology teams as a subject matter expert to design and implement effective and measurable AML systems and controls, in particular providing support to the Model Validation team.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of private sector or government experience in AML/CFT, broader anti-financial crime and risk management
- Deep experience with, and understanding of, rules, regulations, and guidance relating to US and international AML/CFT standards and best practices
- First hand experience working on and guiding multi year program uplift
- Understanding and working with data analytics teams to develop analytics based stories consumable to a broad range of audiences, including Block executive and Board members
- Experience with international compliance requirements and programs
- Experience developing end to end compliance risk management programs
- Experience in coaching, motivating and developing teams, including working effectively across different functions.

- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CAMS, CRCM, CFE)
- Deep domain expertise in data analytics and visualization platforms
- Industry experience working in consultancy practice, development of tools/systems to support scale and efficiency across enterprise risk or compliance risk management domains

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $239,600 - USD $359,400
Zone B: USD $239,600 - USD $359,400
Zone C: USD $239,600 - USD $359,400
