Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Manager who will work as a part of the Foundational Allocations & Consolidations branch of the Finance & Strategy team. You will play an integral role in supporting the Finance and Strategy team, including allocations reporting and data insights, systems alignment, consolidation of monthly reporting and headcount management. You will directly influence elements of Block’s close execution and financial forecasting. As a central function, you will provide support across multiple internal teams and business units. This position can sit in any of Block's US offices or be remote from any of the US states with the exception of Alaska.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with the Foundational F&S and Allocations teams, as well as other business unit F&S partners and technical teams to streamline current processes and improve planning accuracy, visibility and transparency around spend across the company 

  • Lead communications to the executive leadership team and F&S partners describing adjustments and movements. Collaborate with the Foundational finance team to drive decisions and adjustments based on key outputs

  • Organize and consolidate team inputs for long-range and annual planning cycles to ensure deadlines and financial targets are met. 

  • Help guide system refinements and needs to the financial planning process on a monthly close basis, quarterly re-forecasting and throughout at-large planning cycles

  • Improve the Foundational and OCTO F&S systems processes and forecasting to aid efforts to streamline the Allocations close process 

  • Operate with a general sense of curiosity and always aim to improve functional processes, whether it is working with other members of the team or the partnerships you support

  • Build strong relationships across the F&S Foundational, OCTO and BU F&S partner teams and our cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other relevant field

  • 5+ years of relevant experience (e.g. FP&A, strategic finance, management consulting, investment banking)

  • Self-starter and team-player mentality, and willingness to work in unstructured environments

  • Ability to develop solutions to solve complex or ambiguous problems 

  • Excellent proficiency in financial modeling (you should be prepared for a case study)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional judgment and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

  • Commitment to Block’s purpose of Economic Empowerment

  • Experience with different data tools (e.g. Databricks, Tableau, Looker)

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $135,200 - USD $202,800
Zone B: USD $125,800 - USD $188,600
Zone C: USD $119,000 - USD $178,400
Zone D: USD $108,200 - USD $162,200
