Job Description
Block is looking for an experienced Regulatory Examination Manager with relevant federally regulated financial institution background. You will help provide organizational and substantive support to the Regulatory Team, you will build new systems and procedures, and you will work with a variety of people at Block. Your mission is to uphold Block's lending obligations in connection with its bank partners and regulatory examinations. Chief among your responsibilities involve full cycle examination management support including developing project plans with timelines, managing intake of examination requests, work with partners to obtain responses, facilitate regulatory submissions in the appropriate time frame and manage communications. You will work with partners in legal, compliance, banking operations, finance, data analytics and engineering, product and other teams, to ensure that Block is compliant with applicable requirements and obligations while, to the extent possible, streamlining regulatory impact and facilitating innovation.
You Will:
- Manage an examination program that fulfills our legal and regulatory responsibilities, while endeavoring to minimize business and product impact.
- Oversee federal regulatory examinations, partnering with team members to ensure satisfactory regulatory examination results.
- Support preparation of all exam requests and inquiries, coordinate with partners, gather data from a variety of teams, harmonizing data and ensuring that all responses are submitted with care.
- Support any remediation project planning and tracking.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, demonstrating sensitivity and efficiency in responding to regulatory requests.
- Track, interpret and operationalize legal and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for all data input and management into the repository/GRC/issue management and will manage repository/GRC/issue management workflow, ensuring deadlines are set.
- Manage all documentation within the GRC and ensure correct naming conventions, folder structures, and delivery to the regulator.
Qualifications
You Have:
- 5+ years direct experience with federal regulatory examinations (FDIC, FRB, OCC, CFPB, etc.) and bank partnership lending models.
- Familiarity with lending regulations, banking regulations and financial services industry best practices.
- Experience creating and implementing efficient operational and logistical efficiencies.
- Familiarity with reviewing lending related data information and reports.
- Experience organizing and managing projects.
- Experience interpreting and explaining legal and regulatory obligations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills when interpreting and explaining legal and regulatory obligations to regulators and company partners.
- Experience with GRC and issue management.
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $122,900 - USD $184,300
Zone B: USD $114,200 - USD $171,400
Zone C: USD $108,200 - USD $162,200
Zone D: USD $98,300 - USD $147,500
