Job Description
Block is looking for a People Strategy & Planning Manager for the People Team. You will report to the Head of Global People Strategy and guide strategic planning within the People function. We’re looking for a senior, experienced individual contributor who can create impact and excels in collaboration.This is an important position on a new team at Block to balance a mix of operational, analytical, and strategic responsibilities, including:
You Will:
Improve Block’s quarterly strategic planning and goal setting processes (i.e. OKR planning).
Lead the annual headcount resource allocation process with the Finance and Business Units.
Help develop resources for the People team to build better processes and rhythms to support strategic planning
Support the Strategy & Planning Lead in the development and measurement of our strategic priorities as an input into Annual and Quarterly Planning.
Support in improving function-wide business processes (e.g. business reviews, exec meetings, board updates, all-hands, etc). Improve these processes for scale, efficiency, and organizational alignment
Develop an understanding of our overall business and make recommendations or strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness, talent management, and employee engagement.
Provide an objective perspective and support decisions for senior management through data collection, information analysis, and framework development
Work with important partners within People, Finance, Strategy, Biz Ops, People, Product, and multiple other teams across Block to help address issues and deliver value quickly
Help create rigorous communications explaining Block’s People strategy, priorities, programs, and progress for our Board of Directors, senior leadership, and employees.
Develop business cases and recommendations that align with priorities and goals, and help guide the “follow-through” of those recommendations to ensure smooth execution with an array of partners.
Qualifications
You Have:
8+ years of experience in analytical, strategic roles and with a background in consulting, business operations, or finance.
Experience leading large-scale planning, goal setting, and resource allocation processes at a scaled company
Experience with strategic planning and strategy
Experience working with and influencing management at all level
Data analysis skills
Experience distilling difficult concepts and creating concise messages and stories that resonate.
Even Better:
Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $142,000 - USD $213,000
Zone B: USD $132,100 - USD $198,100
Zone C: USD $124,900 - USD $187,300
Zone D: USD $113,600 - USD $170,400
