Job Description

Block is looking for an experienced Regulatory Licensing Manager with relevant international regulatory lending experience. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team, working on exciting issues. As we expand our offerings, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact.

The core mission of this role is to uphold Block's licensing and other regulatory obligations in the lending space outside of the U.S., which are critical to our success. Chief among the role’s responsibilities are to provide substantive support to the Regulatory Team and Regulatory Counsel, project managing license applications, track regulatory requirements, file regulatory reports and regulatory submissions, creatively problem solve issues and engage in regulatory analysis projects., you will be a project managing and executing champion, partnering with your team across multiple departments to ensure that Block is compliant with applicable requirements while, to the extent possible, streamlining regulatory impact and facilitating innovation.

You Will:

  • Co-manage an international licensing program that fulfills our legal and regulatory responsibilities, while endeavoring to minimize business and product impact
  • Support regulatory counsel with product scoping and analysis on the development of new products or regulatory changes in jurisdictions outside of the U.S.
  • Execute against regulatory reporting requirements by gathering data from multiple and disparate internal stakeholders, harmonizing data and ensuring that all reports are submitted with care and on time
  • Manage all assigned licensing requirements, partnering with internal and external stakeholders as necessary
    • Manage third-party licensing vendors and coordinate work orders 
    • Daily license maintenance and management of regulatory records
    • Support license application, examination or investigation preparation and submissions
    • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners and regulators 
    • Manage assigned work effectively, with a team-oriented approach

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 4+ years direct experience in international lending licensing, regulatory examinations or regulatory affairs in the lending space 
  • A BA/BS degree, paralegal experience a plus.
  • Experience with lending licensing applications, maintenance and management in jurisdictions outside of the U.S.; examination and investigation experience a plus
  • Familiarity with lending regulations and financial services industry best practices, preferably in jurisdictions outside of the U.S.
  • Experience engaging with regulatory agencies and executive leadership.
  • Experience creating and implementing operational and logistical efficiencies.
  • Experience interpreting and explaining legal and regulatory obligations across multiple disciplines and levels.
  • Familiarity with NMLS, GSuite applications, Microsoft Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, Jira, Asana

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $101,500 - USD $152,300
Zone B: USD $94,400 - USD $141,600
Zone C: USD $86,300 - USD $129,500
Zone D: USD $76,200 - USD $114,200
