Bitkey sits within the Proto team. Proto's purpose is to accelerate the world’s transition to a more open economy by making products that increase access and independence for everyone. The first two initiatives we’ve identified that represent the biggest impact to this purpose are in the Bitcoin space with Bitcoin mining and Bitkey, a self custody Bitcoin wallet. While we’re starting there, we don’t believe the need for tools to increase one’s independence is limited to bitcoin or the financial space. We are growing our Money Movement & Partnerships team and are looking for someone with experience building multi-platform mobile apps to join our team. In this role you will work in a small cross-discipline team that makes it simple and easy to move bitcoin on and off Bitkey.

You will:

• Ship features in a new, beautiful, reliable, resilient, and open-source iOS & Android application leveraging Kotlin Multiplatform
• Craft pixel-perfect, intuitive UI that makes ownership of bitcoin accessible to a global audience
• Directly impact architecture and design decisions to ensure we successfully scale globally
• Work closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to build user experiences the people trust to move bitcoin on and off Bitkey
• Emphasize customer experience in all of your work, from early design to field observability and continuous improvement

You have:

• 8+ years of experience shipping features in world-class iOS & Android applications with experience and/or openness to develop in our KMP & Swift mobile stack
• Experience with designing and building backend APIs for mobile applications to interact with
• Experience working with small cross-functional teams working on 0->1 features
• Interest in the opportunities and challenges that come with building a new product area from the ground up
• Bonus: Experience developing for bitcoin/cryptocurrency applications

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
