Job Description

The Global Sanctions Team (“GS”) is part of Global Policy and Governance (GPG) within Block Compliance. GS executes Block’s Global Sanctions Program to effectively manage and mitigate economic sanctions risks across the organization. 

As a Global Sanctions Regulatory Program Manager, you will be responsible for working cross functionally to document risk, analyze data, and use automated tools to drive truly innovative insights for Block’s Global Sanctions Program. In particular, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an enterprise-wide sanctions risk and control inventory capturing sanctions functions and processes across the organization, ensuring sanctions-related decisions are governed through the appropriate channels, tracking new and existing products carrying elevated sanctions risk and performing ongoing oversight to ensure the sanctions inventory remains accurate. 

Additionally, you will:

  • Formally capture sanctions-related issues to GPG’s central issue management system and track milestones towards remediation.
  • Manage external benchmarking engagements to stay current on sanctions regulatory trends and industry best practices.
  • Manage GS responsibilities related to Block’s annual sanctions risk assessment and support ad hoc sanctions risk assessments, as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including business partners, regulators and regional compliance teams at Block.
  • Maintain ongoing engagements with relevant stakeholders within Block business units to ensure sanctions inventory remains accurate. 
  • Maintain a list of key stakeholders for GS across the organization who contribute to the development of the sanctions inventory.
  • Discuss gaps and key findings from sanctions inventory at the appropriate forums and with senior management within Block Compliance.

Qualifications

You have:

  • A four year undergraduate degree (Bachelor's Degree) or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of private sector or government experience in sanctions compliance and risk management.
  • Experience creating compliance inventories capturing risk and existing processes across an organization.
  • Experience developing end to end compliance risk management programs.
  • A strong analytical approach to create substantiated solutions.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
  • Adaptability in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members of all levels, and cross-functional partners.
  • A mindset to deliver results proactively, resourcefully, and methodically.

Even better:

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CAMS, CGSS, CSS).
  • Project management experience or related certifications.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $141,500 - USD $172,900
Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $163,600
Zone D: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
