Cash App is offering a better way to file your taxes as an alternative to traditional online DIY tax preparation systems. As the lead of our Tax Product Specialist team, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the process that transforms federal and state tax forms, schedules, and regulations into our software. As a subject matter expert in tax, you will partner with our engineering and product teams to build tax software that is a joy to use while ensuring accuracy. Additionally, you will collaborate with our customer care organization and quality assurance teams, ensuring correct product behavior and accuracy.
This position is ideal for a seasoned leader in the DIY tax software industry who is looking to have a significant impact on shaping and improving a tax product that is accessed by millions of users, as part of a rapidly growing software company.
You will:
- Lead and mentor the Tax Product Specialist team fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Set clear goals and provide guidance to team members, empowering them to excel in their roles.
- As a subject matter expert in individual federal and state tax situations, be responsible for analyzing and interpreting the most recent tax laws and regulations. Your insights will shape the implementation of tax-related features within our software.
- Collaborate closely with our engineering and product teams to transform product designs into a fully functional tax software product. Ensure accurate implementation of tax-related features and functionalities, covering a wide range of supported scenarios.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in the tax industry. Proactively identify opportunities for product improvement and enhancement based on industry developments and user feedback.
- Work directly with our customer care organization developing processes and procedures that ensure they can address and resolve product-related issues reported by our filers.
Qualifications
Qualifications
You have:
- Prior managerial experience in the tax software industry
- Demonstrated good judgment and intuition
- Effective and clear communication skills (written and verbal)
- A methodical nature, characterized by a high level of organization and attention to detail, allowing me to work with precision and accuracy.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- An Enrolled Agent certification, a preferred qualification for the role
- Contagious passion for tax
- Experience with technical concepts and working closely with engineers

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $167,300 - USD $204,500
Zone B: USD $155,600 - USD $190,200
Zone C: USD $147,200 - USD $180,000
Zone D: USD $138,900 - USD $169,700
