Job Description

The Block People team Project Management Office is looking for an experienced Project Manager to build strategic programs across the people team. You will be the central contact for key programs and will communicate progress, determining success criteria, and making sure the right decision makers are at the table when needed. You will work with multiple teams such as Benefits, Compensation, HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Global Mobility, Business Technology, Legal, Office, Payroll, and other teams across the organization to ensure successful launches.

You will:

  • Provide project management, strategic support and process improvement support for the people organization
  • Have interpersonal, and solid experiences managing conflict, team building training, collaboration, and communication
  • Establish project charter, process and structure, and maintain project related related artifacts for each project you own
  • Act as a single point of contact and manage the the full lifecycle of priority projects 
  • Summarize new requests and present recommendations to partners
  • Maintain the roadmap for any programs you are driving
  • Identify project risks/gaps and create risk mitigation plans
  • Document current state processes and establish an understanding of the biggest gaps and processes improvement opportunities 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes through system automation and streamlined workflows. Analyze current HR practices and systems, recommend improvements that align with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry best practices. 
  • Build support and internal-company relationships with other partners
  • Communicate status updates of important projects
  • Be a trusted advisor and consultant to the people and project team

Qualifications

You have:

  • 5 years of experience in a program management role 
  • Experience with HR systems such as Workday, Visier, and SmartRecruiters
  • Experience leading large change programs
  • Experience with process improvement projects 
  • Experience working  with partners in HR, Corporate Tax, Legal, Stock Administration, Payroll, IT, and Finance for project deliverables
  • Communicate top-level risks and requirements, and propose mitigation approaches
  • Experience working in global matrix organizations
  • Verbal and written business level proficiency in English
  • A PMP certification with Agile methodology or PM experience equivalent

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $141,500 - USD $172,900
Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $163,600
Zone D: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
