Job Description

Square Financial Services is looking for a Credit Risk Specialist to mitigate credit risk within the business financing space. Square Financial Services safely provides funds to our customers to help them grow their businesses. You will analyze data using internal/external tools to distinguish risky accounts from opportunities across different types of businesses. The ideal candidate loves credit, and enjoys finding creative ways to manage risk while improving our client experience. Successful specialists become experts on Square Financial Services, and influence both the product roadmap and customer experience.

Qualifications

You Will:

  • Define and implement new strategies for the prevention of loss on Square Financial Services
  • Review applicant accounts to maintain default rate within investor requirements
  • Communicate with clients including investigative level conversations
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date process documentation and reporting
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to establish policies and reduce loss
  • Report performance metrics
  • Surface opportunities to improve tools, workflow, and customer experience
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML and perform BSA/AML duties as required by job function

You Have:

  • 2+ year experience working in business lending 
  • Experience with financial analysis including reviewing financial statements
  • BS degree in Finance, Mathematics, or Accounting desired
  • Flexibility to adapt and ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Detective-like mentality; simultaneous desire to help customers and obtain the truth
  • Must be a team-oriented person with willingness to help develop new team members 
  • Contagious passion for our company's mission

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $28.17 - USD $34.42
Zone B: USD $26.20 - USD $32.02
Zone C: USD $22.79 - USD $27.88
Zone D: USD $21.11 - USD $25.82
