The Data Governance Foundations team strives to create a governance strategy that emphasizes data enablement while ensuring data teams meet regulatory and compliance requirements. We empower Block's data community with a suite of streamlined, automated, and sustainable governance solutions, ensuring exceptional data product experiences, compliance, privacy protection, risk mitigation, and enhanced developer productivity.

You are a software engineer, ready to bring your skills towards building modern, next generation, data governance solutions. As a Privacy Engineer on the Data Governance Foundations team, you will:

• Write performant, clean, modern applications and services to improve productivity and customer experiences.
• Be self-driven in identifying and documenting feature gaps, and designing and implementing solutions to them.
• Contribute to the monitoring, stability, and security of our existing services.
• Communicate technical designs in writing and in person to all kinds of audiences.
• Understand our partners' needs and assist turning their requests into scalable features.

• 2+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience developing in Java, Ruby, Python, and/or Go.
• Strong experience with cloud (AWS and/or GCP)
• Willingness to learn new technologies or languages
• Strong communication skills
