Job Description

Creative Studio collaborates with teams across Block to communicate big ideas and translate brand narratives into creative work. As an in-house team of designers, writers, technologists, and producers, we combine art, design, and storytelling to create everything from campaigns and identity systems to interactive experiences and 3D and motion work. 

As a part of our team, you will lead complex design programs and creative campaigns from development through execution. You will improve project work-flows across the team and with partners. You will report to the Creative Operations Lead.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with the team's internal disciplines (Design, Design Technology, Editorial, 3D and Motion), project requestor(s), partners, and teams to lead project scoping, inclusive of goals, deliverables, creative resources, budget, and timing. 
  • Create detailed schedules and timelines, coordinating important dates for reviews and approval. 
  • Develop project budgets.
  • Schedule and lead project meetings — kickoffs, check-ins, syncs — to keep teams on track, agree on decisions, follow up with owners on commitments, and ensure expectations are clear.
  • Provide proactive written project documentation to project team and partners — milestone achievements, status updates, timeline changes, meeting notes, and other required follow-ups.
  • Understand, identify, flag, and resolve issues throughout the project life cycle. 
  • Host and moderate debrief meetings to collect process-related feedback.
  • Ensure all project documents are archived following project completion. 
  • Collaborate with team members on creative resource management.
  • Contribute to project management tool and process evaluation and improvements.
  • Foster cross-discipline relationships across the Creative Studio team.
  • Motivate project team members.
  • Manage multiple project workflows, often with overlapping importance and urgency.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 7-10 years of project management experience in a creative environment.
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet, Float).
  • Familiarity with creative asset types, design workflows, communication channels.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience presenting to project teams, senior management and partners.
  • You think holistically about complex systems, empathize with users, and understand goals to create compelling user experiences.
  • You have knowledge of new project management tools and platforms.
  • You work on challenging, wide-reaching projects with your team
  • You communicate your ideas and work to your direct and other teams.
  • You know when to compromise without sacrificing design principles.
  • You have knowledge of the different project management methodologies.
  • You have taken a course in or achieved a project management certification.

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $141,500 - USD $172,900
Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $163,600
Zone D: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
