Job Description

As the Channel and Product Lead for Square Shop, you will manage the product roadmap and be accountable for the business impact and customer success of Square Shop. You will understand the needs and experiences of your customers and your cross-functional counterparts and translate that into a compelling vision for Square Shop within the context of other relevant onboarding and purchase/subscription surfaces at Square. You will gain alignment across counterparts, and translate your vision into a roadmap and clear product requirements. You will write requirements, prioritize the backlog, and work with the engineering teams to deliver and test quality software.

We are looking for someone with a strong product mindset; a combination of business savvy and analytical ability, customer centricity and technical knowledge. We are looking for product managers that are passionate about the customer's journey while striving to understand the complexities of system integrations and operational impacts. You will report into the Hardware Marketing & Channels Lead.

You will:

  • Set the vision, roadmap, and direction for Square Shop
  • Think globally about the total business and how to best support organizational priorities and growth
  • Lead the planning, scoping, and prioritization of projects to achieve all of our goals
  • Evaluate roadmap tradeoffs based on revenue and cost, resource capacity, and customer experience
  • Track, and report out on, your success based on Shop Sales and other business metrics
  • Gather requirements, determine features, write product specs, refine feedback, help write test plans, manage the backlog, and ship quickly
  • Build partnerships with seller experience, marketing, logistics, customer service, and engineering teams to determine and drive successful execution of roadmap initiatives and achievement of performance targets
  • Represent the team with partners and senior company leaders to align resources and prioritization
  • Utilize technology, tools and operational knowledge to implement projects that drive growth, along with advocating for technical and platform changes to improve the customer experience

Qualifications

You have:

  • 10+ years total experience with 5+ years experience in ecommerce product management
  • An understanding of ecommerce best practices and great consumer intuition with a curiosity about what motivates online behavior
  • An ability to both operate at a strategic level and dive deep into the technical details and complexity with ease
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally to gain alignment with large groups of stakeholders using quantitative and qualitative arguments
  • Past examples of using customer insights and data analytics to drive roadmap and to improve features and user experiences
  • Experience shaping product direction based on customer needs

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400
