Job Description

We’re looking for an incredible Senior Product Manager to guide the merchant disputes product and platform experiences for the Marketplace business within Block. Our Product Managers are customer-focused, collaborate intensely with other cross functional teams, and make decisions with an eye towards our business. 

In this role, you will lead the vision, strategy, product life cycle, and end-to-end execution of the product, including merchant-facing API experience, and the associated platform and services. You will own the critical merchant experience and platform within Marketplace core business. You will partner with Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Sales, Legal, Compliance and Operations to define and deliver a world class disputes product for our sellers, while protecting Afterpay from financial risk coming from payment disputes. 

You will:

  • Establish the vision and strategy for merchant disputes; align with cross-functional team leaders on your vision and to promote its success. 
  • Establish the product road-map, identify and prioritize the most impactful things to build with your team, and then execute to build it.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 8+ years of product management or equivalent experience
  • Experience building agreement and working with diverse partners across a product ecosystem.
  • You enjoy digging into data for details and trends, forming a pov, hypothesis and then building the product/technical solutions to make it better. 
  • You are comfortable leading technical conversations with engineering, risk and data science counterparts, and then shift gears to have a meaningful business conversation with sales, finance, business development, legal and compliance teams to help you to make decisions. 
  • Vision: You've formed, gained and supported strategies shaping the direction of your product.
  • Customer empathy: Experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs.
  • Developed industry-leading products that have solved complex problems for their customers.
  • Prior experience with payments and disputes is a plus
  • Prior experience working with Marketplace, risk, and operations at scale is a plus

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400
