Job Description

The Compliance Governance and Reporting (CGR) team manages key components of Block’s Compliance Risk Management Framework and is part of Global Policy and Governance (GPG) within Block Compliance.  The CGR team has responsibility for the following functions: Policy Governance, Risk Assessment, Compliance Training, Compliance Risk Management including Advisory, Third Party Risk Management, Issues Management, GRC tools, and Board Reporting.  

As a Compliance Training Lead within the CGR team, you will lead the team that manages Block Inc, level Compliance training, works with the Block CCO and International Compliance Leads to incorporate Block and local level Compliance training requirements, and establishes a policy for Board training expectations for AML, ABAC and other compliance areas. This role will own the end-to-end management of Compliance training including uploading approved content to learning management systems, completing audience assignments per requirements, managing training communications, monitoring completion rates, reporting on escalations, and managing exemptions. You will work closely with other members of the CGR team, GPG, and other Compliance teams to develop and maintain the program as part of the broader Compliance Risk Management framework.

You will:

  • Lead the Compliance Training team responsible for managing annual and new hire Compliance training requirements for all Block, Inc. employees, across all business units and geographies
  • Own the Compliance Training program, policy and related procedures 
  • Identify and act on opportunities to mature and scale the program in order to drive improved employee comprehension, accurate audience assignments, as well as timely and meaningful training reporting
  • Develop and document processes and controls around new training requests, updates/management of existing content, guardrails around exemptions, approvals, communications, and escalation protocols for non-completion.  
  • Effectively manage relationships and contracts of CGR procured vendors that provide training support (i.e. content, newsletters), tooling, continuous education, etc.
  • Manage all training-related escalations and support the team in overcoming obstacles and executing against program objectives
  • Identify and track compliance training related issues through remediation and leverage those issues to make continuous improvements to the program to drive effective and sustainable learning solutions

Qualifications

You have:

  • 8 or more years in Compliance and/or Risk Management with experience in developing, managing, and administering training within a regulated financial services environment
  • 3 or more years of people management experience
  • Experience managing global compliance training requirements across geographies
  • Experience in coaching, motivating and developing teams
  • Experience with standard learning management systems (Workday, Rise, etc.)
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate, and problem-solve issues with team members of all levels, and cross-functional partners across various lines of business as well as senior management
  • The tenacity to deliver results proactively, resourcefully, and methodically, in addition to having the ability to develop and deliver effective solutions

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000
Zone B: USD $171,200 - USD $209,200
Zone C: USD $162,000 - USD $198,000
Zone D: USD $152,700 - USD $186,700
