Job Description

The Team:

The Cash Core Web team is building out future web experiences and systems across Cash App. We are responsible for building products and features, and the foundational environments and systems they are built with. We collaborate with and support numerous product teams across Cash App, including Banking, Payments, Commerce, Investing and Marketing. 

The Job:

The Web Marketing Platform team works closely with Design, Marketing and Product to engage our customers. We are focused on building tools to unlock creativity, and amplifying the expression and style that make Cash App unique. As a team, we span a broad spectrum of web development; from foundational frontend architecture, design systems, analytics pipelines, to the building blocks that power our services and content management systems. We are responsible for the homepage, product pages, and various online experiences. We regularly implement and ship new content experiences while exploring business and growth opportunities.

As a Frontend Engineer you will work together with the team to:

  • Design, build and own customer facing experiences and the systems that power them
  • Bring experience and knowledge to the team, advancing the web profession at Cash App, and learning from others along the way
  • Help implement our analytics and experimentation architecture
  • Craft durable, well-tested code with close attention to visual detail
  • Ship new experiences and improvements regularly

Qualifications

You have:

  • 2+ years of frontend engineering experience
  • A strong motivation to contribute to the growth of a meaningful product that will fundamentally change the way people interact with their money
  • Proficiency creating readable, well-crafted, and maintainable code
  • Depth and breadth of experience crafting JavaScript applications
  • Interest in working on frontend interfaces, using modern Javascript
  • A commitment to continuous improvement (yourself, your teammates, your software)
  • Demonstrated technical initiative
  • Interest in working with other engineering teams and cross functional partners; product managers, business analysts, designers, and marketing teams.

Tools we use and teach:

  • Frontend: React, CSS, Preact, Javascript, Typescript, NextJS
  • Communication: HTTP, JSON, and Protocol Buffers
  • Server: Node, Java

This role is remote-friendly and can accommodate candidates from any time zone across North America.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
