Product Manager, Identity Experience
- Full-time
Company Description
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
Job Description
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Trusted Identity group for our Identity Experience team. Trusted Identity is responsible for onboarding sellers to Square’s payments and financial services. It’s essential that we verify our seller’s identities and that we keep up to date with them as their businesses change and grow. Customers rely on our team to keep track of the sensitive details of their business, to manage who can make changes, and to make it painless to stay within the bounds of the law regardless of how their business evolves.
The Identity Experience team owns building a platform and set of experiences that allow our Sellers businesses – and Square’s understanding of them – to evolve over time. You will help drive a platform product strategy that helps us unlock a dynamic toolkit that allows businesses to start, run, and grow with Square, while helping Square stay within the law and expectations of our partners.
As the product manager for Identity Experience, you will report to the Group Product Lead for Trusted Identity and lead the direction of your product by setting vision/strategy and partnering with the engineering manager of your sprint team to drive execution. You will champion the voice of our sellers and developers to deliver a reliable, scalable, and delightful identity management experience for Sellers.
You Will:
Run your product like a business: manage the entire product life cycle from ideation, to planning and execution
Focus the team on the most impactful projects by understanding the jobs to be done, synthesizing those needs into your product roadmap, and defining key metrics
Manage expectations by communicating progress to stakeholders and partners, and negotiating with non-technical stakeholders to ensure we build the right product.
Align large cross-team projects by driving your team's annual planning process.
Ensure the health of your product by balancing new features with maintenance and technical debt.
Qualifications
You Have:
5+ years of product management experience or equivalent
Passion for our purpose of economic empowerment and innovation on behalf of our sellers and developers
An analytical and metrics driven work style that leverages data to make informed decisions
Great interpersonal and communication skills that shine when you’re talking with a customer or engaging a cross-functional audience
Natural curiosity, obsession with the details, desire to build the right thing
