Job Description

We are looking for a People Operations Compliance Specialist to join our Global People Operations Compliance team to help support and leapfrog ahead of Block's growth. Reporting to the Global People Operations Compliance Lead, you will be hands-on and responsible for overlooking People Operations procedures relating to compliance in the US.

You'll partner "horizontally" across multiple teams, understand HR Compliance needs across multiple locations and create long-term solutions that can withstand the test of time and growth.

You will:

  • Understand HR Compliance matters in the US markets
  • Identify people compliance gaps and inconsistencies and collaborate towards improved and more productive practices that improve People team's compliance.
  • Operationalize HR processes that meet country specific compliance needs
  • Work with partner teams (such as People Centers of excellence teams, legal, payroll) when new programs arise
  • Support queries relating to compliance, audit and due diligence specific projects in this area
  • Work with our internal legal team to validate compliance requirements
  • Be a DRI in the US for all People Operations related compliance projects. Collaborate and administer different compliance efforts and projects
  • Implement compliance initiatives and templates that can be utilized by people operations team members
  • Work with the People Systems team to create solutions in relation to compliance needs and projects, including automation and reporting
  • Work with global teams across varying time zones across our APAC, EMEA and American markets
  • Monitor and understand legislation in countries and states where we have entities

Qualifications

You have:

  • HR operational experience in several HR areas (e.g., Benefits, Compensation, Immigration)
  • Experience implementing processes that scale
  • The instinct to create personal and professional stretch goals and meet them
  • Team player who can jump in and support the team on a variety of topics and tasks
  • Broad experience with software tools and systems

Even better:

  • Experience with Workday
  • Experience in HR Compliance or a People Operations role that included compliance
  • Experience managing the Form I-9 process
  • Experience managing HR related audits and statutory reportings
  • Understanding of HR laws in the US markets
  • Experience at a growth-stage tech company

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $41.30 - USD $50.43
Zone B: USD $38.37 - USD $46.92
Zone C: USD $35.10 - USD $42.88
Zone D: USD $30.96 - USD $37.88
