Job Description

You will lead Cash App’s Partner Risk and Compliance function and report to the Head of Compliance for Cash App. You will oversee our compliance relationships with banking partners, acquiring partners, payment network partners, product partners, and other third parties. You will lead a team, develop a strategy for the function, oversee our engagements with current and prospective partners, and drive compliance projects that have company-wide impact. You will support Cash App’s compliance vision by working together with business stakeholders and other compliance and counsel personnel to guide the compliance program forward, focusing on partner and program risk and due diligence.

You Will:

  • Develop the vision for the partner risk and compliance function
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute a plan for engaging with current and prospective partners on compliance-related matters 
  • Lead a team responsible for understanding our partner program requirements
  • Lead and support efforts to conduct partnership due diligence and respond to partner reviews of our compliance program
  • Manage projects that span several departments, partners, product offerings, and international regions
  • Coordinate your team’s activities with the other functions in the broader Compliance organization and the product and partnership business teams
  • Review relevant laws, regulations, and payment network rules and work with Compliance Governance, Product Compliance Managers, Legal, and Network Operations to provide guidance and interpretation
  • Develop relationships with important contacts at banks, product partners, and acquiring partners to facilitate strong and transparent collaboration
  • Understand and communicate complex risk, legal, and regulatory concepts to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide advice and input of the design of policies, programs, procedures, and other controls
  • Lead and contribute to special projects critical to the long-term success of Cash App’s compliance program

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in a senior compliance role in the financial services sector 
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Knowledge and experience with building and running a risk-based compliance program
  • Experience with the risks and regulations applicable to consumer-facing financial services and products 
  • Experience with AML, sanctions and other financial crimes compliance rules and regulations 
  • Experience engaging in compliance program due diligence with or for financial institutions 
  • Strong ability to engage with and influence stakeholders to achieve results
  • Familiarity with compliance and/or FinTech technology, systems, processes, governance, and testing frameworks
  • Experience with building and maintaining credibility with business leads, external partners, and regulators through collaborative engagement
  • Experience developing and coaching team members to develop an enterprise mindset

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone B: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone C: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone D: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
