Job Description

Our vision is to transform TIDAL into a transparent, open and modular platform that enables us, and anyone else, to invent and build new solutions that drive music innovation using our content, data and functionalities. We are looking for an individual contributor Technical Program Manager to drive expansion of integrations with creator tools and DJ services including Serato, Pioneer etc. In collaboration with our API, Platform and Product teams, you will develop business cases for project prioritization and investment, assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs vs.technical constraints. You will also work closely with creator tools and software, sound partners, and DJ service providers. You will report to the Head of Partnerships.

 

You Will:

 

  • Define and deliver a strategy that drives innovation in the creator tools and DJ services space.
  • Identify market opportunities and build business cases to refine product strategy, leading discovery internally and externally.
  • Demonstrate understanding and empathy for artists, and other important players in the creator and DJ ecosystems, with a passion for improving their economic outcomes.
  • Develop internal processes and drive execution of projects by striking the balance with driving innovation while respecting the rights and responsibilities of our artists and label partners.
  • Develop, and evolve relationships with partners, such as DJ service providers, product and engineering, and label relations, at both executive and working level.
  • Negotiate complex technical agreements including defining important business commitments and deliverables.
  • Prepare and deliver updates for senior leadership on progress and roadblocks.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical program experience.
  • You must have experience working with music-centric partners and labels. 
  • Knowledge of music royalties and the existing processes and methodologies in the industry paired with the ability to leverage emerging technologies to transform the business and drive opportunities for growth.
  • Experience with project delivery for large, cross functional projects involving partner teams inside and outside your organization.
  • Architectural design or system design experience independent of an architect.
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with programs that require expert handling of technical, legal, and licensing dependencies.
  • Practical experience with agile and lean values, principles, and techniques.
  • Strong preference for candidates coming from DJ or creator tools, STEM, or innovative music companies

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone B: USD $207,200 - USD $253,200
Zone C: USD $196,000 - USD $239,600
Zone D: USD $184,900 - USD $225,900
