The Customer Engagement team is charged with building the best products and tools to help sellers build lasting relationships with their customers. Today, we own a few add-on products -- Loyalty, Marketing, Gift Cards and House Accounts -- that are focused on creating positive, lasting customer relationships. Our goal is to help turn first-time visitors into repeat customers, to loyal customers and promoters. These products help sellers build strong relationships, stay top-of-mind and encourage more visits from existing and new customers.

Job Description

As an iOS Engineer, you will have complete ownership over all the surface areas in the POS applications to make these experiences magical -- for sellers, cashiers and buyers alike. You will work with BE, FE and fellow mobile engineers to develop new features and improve on existing experiences, and in the process, contribute to one of our most recognized products in the world.

You will:

  • Craft durable, well-tested code with an unwavering commitment to product quality
  • Collaborate with Product Manager and Designer to define product features
  • Learn to craft gorgeous, pixel-perfect UI and animations
  • Deliver features to millions of customers, helping the team learn and grow

Qualifications

You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and at least 2 years of proven work experience as an iOS developer creating readable, well-crafted, maintainable code
  • An eye for design or an ear for the customer
  • A commitment to continuous improvement (yourself, your teammates, your software)
  • Eagerness to share your ideas, and openness to those of others

  • Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin (believe it! — we collaborate directly with our friends on Android)
  • UIKit, CoreAnimation, SQLite, Accessibility
  • Unit tests, snapshot tests, integration tests
  • Protocol buffers

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
