Job Description

Block’s People Analytics Team provides applicable insights and research-backed recommendations that inform better people decisions across the company. 

We use Visier as an important channel to surface People data to our internal customers, and are working to enhance this platform and transform it into a one-stop-shop for People insights for business leaders and their People team partners. We are looking for a Visier People Analytics Platform Manager to manage all facets of the Visier People application including understanding customer needs, building data pipelines, onboarding new data types, configuring security, designing new content, and managing training and user enablement. We are looking for a combination of technical and consulting skills and will work with HR Business Partners, Recruiting, and other partners throughout the company. This high visibility and high impact role will directly support the People Analytics needs of senior leadership across all teams at Block.

For this role, the People Analytics team needs an experienced technical platform and project manager who is passionate about using data, has a curious and customer-focused mindset, and brings consulting and analytical skills. You will operate at a tactical level and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in our analytics approaches, products, and services.

You Will:

  • Be an internal platform owner and subject matter expert (SME) for Visier, including vendor relations, data onboarding, data governance, content configuration, security configuration, rollout, partner management, and change management

  • Design and improve our suite of self-service People Analytics guidebooks and analyses, tailoring content to different partner audiences and always keeping the customer experience top of mind

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in our platform, including facilitating the integration of new feature releases and bringing product enhancement suggestions to Visier

  • Define and track success metrics for Visier adoption

  • Use programming skills to create custom metrics and dimensions within the Visier platform

  • Provide daily support for Block’s Visier users, including troubleshooting technical issues and working with Visier support when needed

  • Partner with our People Operations and Enterprise People Technology teams to ensure data quality in our source systems (e.g., Workday) and data pipelines

  • Advise People Analytics team on general best practices and consult on how to use the platform to address complex analytics questions

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in client-facing Business Intelligence, People Analytics, or HR Technology roles, including managing analytics-related products or platforms

  • 2+ years of experience with Visier

  • Experience managing the rollout and ongoing support of technology platforms within complex organizations

  • Curious, analytical thinking style with a love of solving problems

  • Data management and spreadsheet skills

  • Experience with understanding customer needs and experience translating customer requirements into solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging and intuitive data visualizations

  • Experience translating data into clear, applicable insights and communicate about data to audiences at all levels of technical expertise

  • Visier Certified Developer (VCD) 

  • Experience with our People Analytics tech stack:

    • Workday (including Workday integrations and reporting)

    • SmartRecruiters

    • Snowflake

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience writing ETLs

  • Experience with analytics tools (e.g., R/Python/SPSS, Tableau/PowerBI, Alteryx)

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
