Job Description

The Compliance Governance and Reporting (CGR) team manages key components of Block’s Compliance Risk Management Framework and is part of the Global Policy and Governance (GPG) organization within Block Compliance.  As a Third Party Risk Program Manager within CGR, you will be responsible for Block’s Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) program reporting to the Head of CGR.  You will develop and maintain this Program across Block, supporting the centralized intake/due diligence process and end-to-end risk management of third parties from onboarding through off-boarding or termination. 

You will:

  • Develop, oversee, and maintain the Block Inc. level Third Party Risk Management Policy outlining minimum expectations / requirements for comprehensive independent risk management including onboarding, management, and off-boarding of third parties

  • Establish and maintain a rules-based system to evaluate third parties and set minimum quality standards across main risk areas. Develop and oversee an escalation process to address third parties that have fallen below our quality standards. 

  • Monitor, track and report the end-to-end TPRM program for Block, Inc. level third parties

  • Own and manage a central repository housing a complete inventory of all Block, Inc. level third parties which includes all historical records, all inbound/outbound requests, due diligence reviews, and TPRM reporting

  • Communicate program requirements to promote program adoption, and advise on appropriate third party risk management matters that promote effective risk management

  • Work with multiple stakeholders across Block, including Procurement, Legal, and other Compliance team members to support adoption and consistency with the Compliance Risk Management framework

Qualifications

You have:

  • 10+ years of experience in developing and managing a third party risk management in a regulated financial services environment

  • Applied risk management concepts (e.g. COSO, ISO, three lines of defense)

  • Experience developing end-to-end compliance risk management programs

  • Expertise in several of the following subject-matter areas: BSA/AML/sanctions, consumer lending, consumer protection, or payments

  • Understanding and experience with international compliance requirements 

  • Adaptability in an agile and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to collaborate with team members of all levels, and cross-functional partners

  • A mindset to deliver results proactively, resourcefully, and methodically.

 

Even better:

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CAMS, CRCM, CFE)

  • Deep domain expertise in data analytics and visualization platforms

  • Industry experience working in consultancy practice, development of tools/systems to support scale and efficiency across enterprise risk or compliance risk management domains

  • Implementation experience with GRC tools (e.g. RSA Archer, SAI Global, Protecht) in large complex organizations.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000
Zone B: USD $171,200 - USD $209,200
Zone C: USD $162,000 - USD $198,000
Zone D: USD $152,700 - USD $186,700
