Job Description

Cash App is seeking a data analyst to join our dynamic Behavioral Insights Team. The Behavioral Insights Team Data Analyst is an aggregator of data components that would indicate fraud and/or loss in a specific field who builds trust with cross-functional and external partners as well as customers by leveraging analytical skills and comfort with ambiguity to deliver outstanding solutions. Importantly, this role will present their findings in cross-functional settings to various stakeholders across teams. This position requires an ability to fulfill data requests, identify key data, and develop a repeatable framework for analysis utilizing SQL, Excel, and various data visualization tools.

 

You Will:

  • Create SQL queries to extract data for analytical purposes
  • Build databases and reports for the Behavioral Insights Team
  • Summarize complex analyses and use strong written and verbal communication to concisely and confidently deliver information (e.g. a course of action) appropriately tuned to the audience.
  • Document your work and process for repeatability and recall
  • Maintain an understanding of current Cash App processes, products, and risk/fraud patterns
  • Show ownership and bias for action; able to move quickly and decisively to report and resolve an emerging issue and/or financial loss event.
  • Identify gaps in current systems, policies, products, and strategies to take actions that mitigate emerging risks. 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience with SQL, Python, Looker, Tableau, complex Excel functions, and/or other data analysis tools
  • Experience analyzing large datasets to look for patterns and outliers
  • Experience analyzing financial data
  • Experience working with Machine Learning Modeling and Data Science teams via model and rule creation.
  • Experience working with cross-departmental teams with proven collaboration skills.

Even Better

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

  • Certified Fraud Examiner, ACAMS, or similar accreditation

  • Experience working in a fraud or risk environment

  • Subject matter expertise for any of the four Behavioral Insights Teams: Chargebacks, Customer Theft, Banking and/or Identity

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $114,200 - USD $139,600
Zone B: USD $106,200 - USD $129,800
Zone C: USD $97,100 - USD $118,700
Zone D: USD $85,700 - USD $104,700
