Job Description

We are seeking a Integrated Marketing Manager to join our team at Square. As the Marketing Manager for the Japan market, your primary responsibility will be to drive go-to-market strategies (including creative and media, partnership marketing, social & content, and experiential programs) to build brand awareness of Square in Japan. You will partner with internal and external teams to architect go-to-market plans tailored to the Japan market, create new distribution/media tactics, and analyze campaign performance against goals. You will report to the Head of Integrated Marketing.

You will:

  • Develop understanding of customer mindsets, attitudes and behaviors whilst translating those insights into compelling marketing strategies

  • Write briefs to successfully convey campaign or initiative goals, strategies, key metrics and more. 

  • Collaborate with the Global team to ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across all marketing initiatives, while also providing insights to assist localisation of content to the Japanese market

  • Act as the primary point of contact for media agencies to plan, buy, and oversee the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including but not limited to TV, radio, outdoor, digital channels, social media, and blogs. Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven optimizations to maximize effectiveness.

  • Work with internal and external creative teams, coordinating with them to develop impactful marketing materials and assets. Collaborate on the delivery and testing of campaigns, providing feedback and guidance to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and local market requirements.

  • Manage the marketing budget for responsible campaigns, ensuring effective allocation of resources and tracking expenses to maintain financial targets.

  • Partner with our Sales, Product Marketing and Comms teams to architect effective go-to-market programs that span our functions 


You have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Marketing, Business, or a related field; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in creating go-to-market strategies and executing marketing campaigns in the Japanese market

  • The ability to understand Japanese consumer preferences, cultural nuances, and local market dynamics.

  • Strong proficiency in English (verbal & written). 

  • Media planning experience across the media mix (OOH, television, digital, and events)

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable marketing strategies.

  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including global stakeholders, to drive alignment and achieve common goals.

  • Ability to work effectively with creative/media agencies, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

  • Budget management experience and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
