Job Description
The Ads & Communication team connects Cash App to its customers through messaging, including SMS, email, and push notifications. We build and operate systems that send billions of rich, personalized notifications to customers every month.
You will:
- Build systems that help teams across Cash App create, manage, personalize, and deliver messages to our customers
- Manage a reliable, healthy, high throughput message delivery platform that operates 100M+ messages per day
- Work closely with product, analytics, and engineering leaders across the company
- Set the vision and provide technical direction to your team
- Foster an environment of inclusion and empower your team to deliver their best work
- Ensure successful project execution through careful planning, organization, and ownership of your team's development process
Qualifications
You have:
- 6+ years of experience
- 2+ years of management experience
- Boundless curiosity, and a desire to teach and teach
- Built and maintained a healthy supportive culture of technical excellence and accountability
- Delivered and operated critical products/services with large scale usage
- Ability to influence the technical vision of the engineering products that the team is building
- Experience working effectively with product managers, data analysts, and other engineering leaders

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone B: USD $211,600 - USD $258,600
Zone C: USD $200,500 - USD $245,100
Zone D: USD $189,400 - USD $231,400

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
