Job Description

The Open Source Engineering team (OSE) is responsible for developing decentralized web technologies and apps related to Self Sovereign Identity, working with and establishing standards and working in tandem with our growing TBD community. Our work is out in the open (in fact you can check it out here: https://github.com/TBD54566975). This includes infrastructure to support the decentralized web.

This position will report to the OSE lead.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team and lead open source infrastructure and DevOps practices. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and improving the infrastructure that supports our open source projects, including development, configuration, deployment, ci/cd, and monitoring.

You should have a strong background in devops practices and experience with open source infrastructure tools and technologies. You should also have a solid understanding of software development principles and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 5+ years of app development experience
  • Ideally contributed in any way to an open source project
  • Worked on teams that practice devops
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms and tools such as: Terraform, AWS, GCP, Infrastructure as code
  • As a bonus: a keen interest in decentralized systems

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
