Job Description
The Product Compliance team is a group of strategic compliance advisors to the Cash App Product Team, who help develop new products and features. The team partners with Product teams pre-launch to define requirements, identify corresponding controls, and provide ongoing compliance support post-implementation. The Product Compliance team is not only involved from an advisory perspective, but are important decision makers on compliance controls and recommendations to the Business.
The Product Compliance team is looking for someone who has experience working on consumer-focused payment products, with a depth of understanding in Dispute Management (Regulation E, customer communication, network requirements), Access Management / Account Security, and an overall disposition to identifying and designing controls. Your work contributes to the gateway that allows customers to enter the Cash App ecosystem, and maintenance and retention of valuable customers. You are someone who rolls up their sleeves with thoughtful, creative, industry-leading, risk-based solutions. We are looking for a great, collaborative partner, who has experience working with Product teams, along with Legal and Operations.
You Will:
- Partner with Disputes and Risk Operations (which includes Disputes/ATO/IdentityVerification/Account Reviews) to identify gaps, and advise on recommended control design
- Understand Regulation E, with a focus on dispute error resolution workflows, customer communication strategy and requirements
- Work with Product partners to understand their strategic vision around access management, account security, and dispute resolution and advise on the creation of seamless, cohesive customer experiences
- Consult with Legal, Risk and Customer Success to help resolve operational issues related to disputes, and access management
- Identify product gaps in controls and assess remediation plans proposed by partners
- Work with other Compliance partners to identify, document, and develop an inventory of risks and controls for your respective domain
- Ensure a level of connectedness globally for your respective program
- Remain up-to-date on regulatory changes and landscape, best practices and new developments in the industry
Qualifications
You Have:
- 8+ years in the compliance industry, with experience in payments compliance
- AML and regulatory knowledge, specifically in Electronic Funds Transfer Act, Bank Secrecy Act, consumer protection compliance and payment network rules and regulations
- A metrics-driven approach to create substantiated solutions
- Operational knowledge in building a sound Compliance program
- Knowledge in payment regulations or scheme rules, knowledge of areas of e-commerce, and peer-to-peer payments also ideal
- Work with team members of all levels
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $141,500 - USD $172,900
Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $163,600
Zone D: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
