The Open Source Engineering team is responsible for developing decentralized web technologies and applications related to Self Sovereign Identity, working with and establishing standards and working in tandem with our growing TBD community. Our work is out in the open (in fact you can check it out here: https://github.com/TBD54566975).
You will report to the OSE lead.
As a web developer at TBD, you'll have the opportunity to work on the Decentralized Web Node SDK, a crucial component of the decentralized web platform. You will have the chance to produce open source code and collaborate with community contributions. You'll have the chance to showcase your work to the world, rather than having it locked up in proprietary codebases. Plus, you'll get to work with cutting-edge libraries and tools and operate in a heavily self-directed environment that may be fully remote. Qualifications
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience working with typescript and javascript
- Contributed to an open source project
- 3+ years web app development experience
- Worked both serverside and clientside
- Produced SDKs or libraries that have been used in various runtime environments.
- Experience with distributed systems
- An interest in decentralized systems
You Will:
- Work on highly visible open source projects
- Produce SDK and app releases using tools such as typescript, javascript and modern web frameworks
- Work on web apps, as well as libraries, APIs
- Collaborate with community members and open source contributions
- Work on server side and client side web app code
- Work across tools and programming languages

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
