It is an integrated software solution that makes management more manageable. It provides business owners and managers with the tools they need to monitor and manage their employees. This includes providing robust employee permission functionality within Point of Sale and Square Dashboard, plus allowing sellers to track their employee’s time with timecards. You Will: 

• Build and test Android software with complex server, network, and hardware interactions
• Foster a strong culture with team members distributed across several locations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, product, design, and operations to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Design high availability, resilient systems which can operate no matter the network or device conditions.
• Capture and analyze metrics to drive informed decisions.
• Contribute to the direction of the team and selection of projects on our roadmap.

You’ll need to…

• 2+ years of Android development experience, and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals.
• Be proficient in Java and/or Kotlin for development (we use both).
• Enjoy working on mobile apps at all levels – from networking up to user interfaces and whatever’s in between.
• Build high availability and highly resilient systems which can accept and report payments no matter the network or device conditions.
• Collaborate with iOS, Android, and Server engineers to ship features.
• Work with product managers and designers to refine and define product scope and design.
• Respond to customer feedback to improve our products.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
