Product Data Scientist

  • Full-time

Company Description

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 47 million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. This is our mission, and it’s why working at Cash App means so much more than a job.

Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

Job Description

Our message and our product resonate deeply with customers. In September 2022 alone we saw more than 49 million unique monthly transacting users in the US. We’re consistently a top 10 app overall and have held the number one finance spot in the US App Store for the past three years. We see more engagement on social media on a given day than most brands see in a year. Moreover, we’re building an ecosystem that redefines the world’s relationship with money and offers hope beyond the traditional, broken financial system.

The UK is the first market Cash App has launched outside of the US. In the UK we are a top 10 finance app and we want to get to number 1. To achieve this we are looking for a Product Data Scientist to join our Global Markets team and help build Cash App, the fastest growing financial app in the world, globally. • Build, forecast, and report on metrics that drive strategy and facilitate decision making for key business initiatives
  • Write code to effectively process, cleanse, and combine data sources in unique and useful ways, often resulting in curated ETL datasets that are easily used by the broader team
  • Build and share data visualizations and self-serve dashboards for your product team
  • Effectively communicate your work with team leads and cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis
