This role would suit an individual looking to grow in a dynamic organization. Reporting to the ANZ Finance Manager, the responsibilities include management of the Afterpay Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) day to day financial reporting to ensure accuracy of the monthly ANZ results. This role also supports the quarter and year-end close processes.

Technical excellence:

• Execute the ANZ month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process for US GAAP reporting to Block, Inc.

• Support the ANZ team for SOX process execution

• Contribute to preparing annual statutory financial statements observing Australian and New Zealand GAAP

• Manage the balance sheet reconciliations

• Partner with other business functions to maintain accurate accounting records

• Demonstrate critical thinking in preparing deliverables

• Prepare and post journals, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment is applied

• Review business processed, systems and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy

Stakeholder leadership:

• Build relationships with key ANZ internal stakeholders

• Demonstrate effective communication with peers and managers across the business

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or economics

• More than two years experience in an accounting/function or in professional services

• CA or CPA qualified

• Solid technical accounting knowledge with the ability to question and interpret results

• Experience communicating across all levels of the business, and remote international teams

• Ability to time manage and problem solve effectively

• Proactively identify issues and demonstrate initiative to solve such issues
