Job Description
The Finance & Strategy Senior Analyst will work as a member of Block's Foundational Finance & Strategy team. You will support and partner with Block’s Foundational (G&A) functions, specifically People (HR) and Counsel (Legal) teams. You will also work with other Finance & Strategy team members and directly influence elements of Block’s operational execution and financial forecasting. You will also help provide important insights to inform decisions and execution regarding Block's investments across the People and Counsel functions. This position can sit in any of Block's US offices or be remote from any US state with the exception of Alaska.
Qualifications
You Will:
Apply an analytical approach as a finance partner to support the People and Counsel organizations in strategic decision making and building these functions for scalable, enterprise-level operating efficiency
Work with key decision makers across Block and within the People and Counsel teams to optimize financial planning processes, policies, and the implementation of key team initiatives
Lead long-range and annual planning and maintain operating expense budgets / processes to ensure investment allocation and resources are in alignment with Block's strategic priorities
Develop key performance metrics and new analytical insights to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, make recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization
Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders through numerically-driven insights and analysis; create and deliver presentations for the executive team members, board members and other key stakeholders
You Have:
3+ years of relevant FP&A experience (corporate FP&A experience preferred but will consider backgrounds in investment banking, private equity, and finance-related consulting)
A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
Experience with Excel (can perform complex functions); there will be a case study.
Experience with the payments industry and a commitment to Block's mission
Experience with Hyperion / SQL / Tableau / Looker

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
