Job Description

TIDAL is looking for a passionate, proactive, and strategic Senior Copywriter to join our team. This is a hands-on writing role that sits within our Creative Brand Studio. The role requires that you can speak to work that centers on brand storytelling and show how it is expressed through digital ad copy, brand and product emails, social content, narrative hooks, scroll-stopping headlines, scripts for branded films, and more. Your voice can flex appropriately for target audiences, channel, content, and subject matter while maintaining a cohesive brand voice and tone.

Copywriters are an integral part of a team of art directors, designers, program managers and design technologists. However, on a day to day basis you'll also collaborate with cross-functional partners (like Brand and Product Marketing, and Social) as well as Creative Leadership. In sum, you'll sweat the smallest details, aim to deepen the cultural relevance of the TIDAL brand, and understand what it takes to develop and execute great creative work.

You will report to the Associate Creative Director.

You Will: 

  • Collaborate to translate content and marketing strategies into creative concepts and communicate them through writing.
  • Distill complex subject matter into simple, straightforward language that anyone can understand.
  • Leverage customer and data insights to inspire creative strategies and concepts.
  • Collaborate across the TIDAL organization to provide a consistent, integrated customer experience.
  • Consider the audience journey across several brand touchpoints.
  • Write within the guides of our brand voice and tone.
  • Iterate quickly and communicate ideas across several levels of fidelity, with the ability to receive feedback constructively and provide feedback to other's work.
  • Explain complicated products and processes in simple, human ways to both businesses and consumers.
  • You may help write marketing web pages, print advertisements, video + radio scripts, voice talent notes, overview guides, tutorials, search ads, sales + event material, social posts, presentations, growth retention marketing campaigns, email campaigns, and style guides.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 8+ years of industry experience (preferably agency, in-house, studio, production house, or relevant industry marketing experience)
  • 4 year r B.S. or B.A. degree is preferred but not necessarily required
  • Mastery of written language across channels like broadcast, web, social, and print.
  • Excellent grammar, writing, and editorial skills.
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment and balanced multiple projects.
  • Have a positive attitude and a manageable ego with the ability to present and defend good work.
  • Creative flexibility—you can flex your writing and adjust your language and tone based on your audience.
  • A demonstrated ability to define, build, and differentiate brands.
  • Understanding of performance-based marketing strategies and tactics, and can use data to make smart, hardworking creative deliverables.
  • Interest in technology and the future evolution of content creation and distribution.
  • Proficiency in Figma.
  • An online portfolio of creative work and samples

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
