Job Description
Block is looking for an International Tax and Transfer Pricing Manager to join our growing tax team. You will be part of the International Tax and Transfer Pricing function and will help manage all U.S. international, cross-border and non-U.S. tax matters that impact our business, which includes:
Advise on the tax consequences and planning of projects and operating strategies, such as expansion into new markets and the launches of new products
Help integrate newly acquired companies
Help with the implementation of tax strategies
Provide support with Block's quarterly tax rate, tax forecasts close process, and annual U.S. international tax compliance requirements
Help with tax modeling, research, and planning for U.S. international tax matters (GILTI, FDII, FTC, BEAT, etc.) and foreign tax matters (CIT, VAT, WHT)
Help execute transfer pricing matters and documentation, and
Help with developing correspondence regarding tax audits and examinations
Qualifications
You Will:
Support the International Tax and Transfer Pricing Senior Managers in the development, feasibility analysis, and implementation of new tax strategies and plans
Help with tax research related to different Block products in different countries, draft memoranda and other written documents
Communicate knowledge of past, present and potential future international tax laws, guidance, and court decisions that are applicable to the business
Provide analysis regarding international tax questions raised by Block teams
Help with the quarterly close process, including drafting / updating the required tax provision memoranda
Help with the preparation and review of all U.S. international tax compliance and reporting obligations (e.g., Form 5471, CbC reporting, Form 1118, and Form 8858)
Provide support with the preparation of Block's U.S. tax withholding and reporting obligations
Help execute Block's global transfer pricing policies, including:
Prepare the quarterly intercompany calculations and required journal entries
Gather the information required to prepare all transfer pricing documentation obligations globally and review the related reports
Monitor the intercompany relationships with a view to identify activities that require a new intercompany agreement or revisions to existing agreements, including working with Legal and Accounting to operationalize these new/amended agreements
Be a productive member of a team of motivated tax professionals, work with external advisors, and collaborate with other teams within Block such as Accounting, Legal, and Regulatory Counsel
You Have:
5+ years of relevant experience within U.S. international tax matters (both tax consulting and compliance) including in a Big 4 firm, multinational corporation, or law firm
Experience with cross-border intercompany transactions
Be able to analyze all sides of an argument
Can research and write tax technical memos, document tax positions for our auditors, and ensure that the proper checks and balances are in place to ensure we have considered all aspects
Project management, including the ability to handle multiple projects and bring them to conclusion

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
