Growth Product Marketing Manager, eCommerce

  • Full-time

Company Description

Since we first opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely – and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take a payment and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together. So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, run a busy kitchen, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. And across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow all in one place.

Today, we’re a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex commerce operations, sellers just starting out, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers scale, so do our solutions. We all grow together.

There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a business that is big, meaningful, and lasting. And we are helping sellers around the world do the same.

Job Description

We are looking for a creative, data-driven individual to join Square as a Growth Product Marketing Manager, on our Ecommerce team. Using your knowledge of growth marketing, funnel optimization, and monetization, you will work with other Square product marketing managers and product managers to achieve the team's goals and drive growth for the business.

You will emphasize the opportunity, identification, funnel optimization, execution, and optimization of growth campaigns including email, in-product, and offline channels. Your success means working to design, launch, and analyze marketing campaigns. You will lead acquisition and adoption for a set of Square's Ecommerce products. You will also drive go-to-market launches and partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and Marketing teams as we expand our ecommerce footprint across the Square ecosystem. You will report to the Growth Product Marketing Lead, Ecommerce.

You are motivated to dive in and learn by doing. You can ramp up quickly, partner well with our teams, and work against goals.

You will:

  • Partner with the Growth PMM Lead and other teams to ideate, launch, and measure growth campaigns and experiments across email, in-product, public web, and sales & offline touchpoints.
  • Produce data-driven hypotheses for improving marketing performance, design and complete A/B tests, and apply knowledge of basic statistics (e.g. sample size, significance) to separate signal from noise.
  • Partner and work with product, engineering, analytics, and design teams to implement tests and improve the onboarding funnel across public web and in-product platforms.
  • Analyze findings, report on KPIs, and present recommendations to a broader group of team members.
  • Own and optimize lifecycle marketing, testing new channels and logic to acquire, convert, and retain customers.
  • Develop, launch, and analyze the impact of product offers and incentives to improve conversion and retention among high-value sellers.
  • Manage web experimentation to improve important website metrics, including visits, bounce rate, time on page, and conversions.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Demand Generation teams across Square to create cross-product campaigns and improve the discoverability of Ecommerce products within the Square ecosystem.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 5+ years of growth marketing or related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Experience in high-growth environments, preferably FinTech, SMB, or SaaS-based companies. Bonus if you've worked in the Food & Drink vertical before.
  • Demonstrated track record developing and executing A/B tests, analyzing and translating data into business and consumer insights.
  • Experience with pricing and incentive strategy for B2B, B2SMB, and Saas products.
  • Experience with Excel (can perform complex functions) or Google Sheets and writing SQL queries -- you can pull your own data to answer your questions.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (Iterable, Marketo, Hubspot or related), testing platforms (Optimizely, Visual Website Optimizer, Bounce Exchange, etc), content management systems (Contentful, etc) and analytics tools (Looker, Amplitude, Google Analytics, etc).
