Job Description
Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across Square. The Square Seller business provides products and services that help sellers start, run, and grow their businesses and participate in the economy. The foundation of our offerings is a full service, managed payments system and extends to include point-of-sale software and services that help sellers make informed decisions on their orders, inventory, locations, employees, and customers.
We have grown to serve millions of sellers that represent a diverse set of industries and sizes, and span geographies including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The Seller team includes both product teams, and go-to-market and operational teams.
ECOM:
We are looking for a leader to be part of the team that supports eCommerce business. eCommerce business includes Square Online Store and Weebly. Weebly was acquired by Square in May 2018. We integrated Weebly technology with Square to create a feature-rich, self-serve website builder that helps sellers create a custom online store. The product offers a complete platform that allows anyone to start and grow an online business with curated website templates and powerful e-commerce capabilities.
Qualifications
You Will:
Manage the financial planning process for the eCommerce business including building financial models while working with the leadership team on strategy and forecasting.
Apply subject matter expertise of Square's eCommerce business to 1) forecast performance, including short- and long-term trends, 2) create analyses that facilitate clear decision making, 3) surface strategic insights for partners and 4) help inform Square's investment capacity across a range of responsibilities.
Partner with leads across the business to develop new Business Models and monetization strategies.
Support new market and product launches, including GTM strategy, pricing and packaging, and market sizing.
Partner with departments (e.g. Accounting, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Sales and Marketing, and others) to analyze the financial impact of decisions across the company.
Summarize data from SQL databases and collaborate with multiple partners to understand complex relationships between key drivers of our business.
Help advise on operating expense budget activities to ensure investment allocation and resources are according to Square's strategic priorities.
Additional Information
A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
6+ years of relevant industry experience
Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel (can perform complex functions) *there will be a case study
Consistent track record of success and career progression
Experience with eCommerce or Payments is a plus
Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Looker) is a plus
