Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic, financial and operational decision-making across the company. We are looking for an experienced FP&A Sr. Manager who will lead our Finance & Strategy team for the Foundational businesses at Block which consist of our corporate G&A teams (People, Counsel, Guidance, Security, Platform Engineering). This role will interface with key executives at Block and other senior stakeholders across the Foundational teams. You will directly influence key elements of Block’s operational execution and financial forecasting and also play a critical role in building our analytical capabilities, delivering key insights that will inform decisions and execution regarding Block’s investments across the Foundational teams.

You Will:

  • Manage a team of financial analysts, promoting a growth mindset and providing the appropriate level of oversight, coaching and direct involvement in delivering key insights and recommendations to our Foundational business partners

  • Build deep and trusted partnerships with our Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel and Head of People as well as other senior leaders to optimize financial planning, policies and the implementation of key team initiatives

  • Own operating expense budgets and headcount planning to ensure investment allocation and resources are in alignment with Block's strategic priorities

  • Partner with our Strategic Initiatives team on key projects that help identify financial and operational efficiencies across our Foundational teams

  • Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, make recommendations, and collaborate with teams across Block

  • Prepare analysis and materials to present to board members and executive level leaders

This position can sit in any of Block's office locations and is eligible for full-time work from home/remote.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field; MBA preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in corporate Financial Planning and Analysis or related field (e.g. investment banking, private equity, consulting)

  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop teams with experience of having scaled a corporate finance function in line with business growth

  • Experience developing deep partnerships with executive and senior level business leaders

  • Effective communication skills with experience in dealing with cross-functional teams

  • Strong analytical skills (excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel)

  • Experience with Hyperion / SQL / Tableau / Looker is a plus
