Job Description

As one of Afterpay’s SMB Relationship Managers, you’ll help drive Afterpay’s continual growth by building relationships with merchants in our portfolio. We’re looking for an experienced Relationship Manager who proactively seeks creative ways to expand their portfolio. You will play a key role in crafting and delivering our client engagement model to Afterpay’s Premium and high-performing SMB accounts. Lastly, and most importantly, we want you to be passionate about Afterpay and what we stand for, for both our merchants and customers.

  • Develop relationships across a mixed portfolio of Premium and high-performing SMBs to drive ongoing sustainable growth, engagement and merchant advocacy

  • Drive enhanced merchant engagement and GMV growth potential through actively encouraging and supporting merchants to participate in key Afterpay marketing initiatives (Afterpay Day), core SMB campaign activity (eg Support Small) and any bespoke activity with a direct ROI target

  • Identify and help scale best practices across a variety of areas for small businesses including marketing activities, visual merchandising

  • Identify merchant expansion opportunities across your portfolio including omnichannel expansion, cross-border trade, global market expansion and assess the relevancy of any other new Afterpay product initiatives as they launch

  • Manage the lifecycle contact strategy for your portfolio, providing frequent rich industry content, data insight and portfolio analysis to help support strategic merchant planning 

  • Ensure technical support queries are promptly resolved either directly or by facilitating via our Merchant Services support team

  • You’re a team player and someone who develops strong internal and external relationships based on integrity and trust

  • You like to keep it real with your actions, be brave with your decisions, do the right thing for all our stakeholders and shape the future with excitement
