The Orders team has a mission to help sellers reach their customers anywhere and to provide seamless omnichannel experiences – like buy online, pickup in store – to sellers of all sizes. Furthermore, we aim to build an Orders platform that empowers both teams at Square and an ecosystem of third-party developers to support our sellers as we adapt to the future ahead.

Falling under the Orders team, Open Orders has a vision in which Square sellers can edit and manage their open orders all in one place, regardless of source or channel. As an Android engineer on the Open Orders team, you will build on a best-in-class Order Management experience that makes omnichannel a reality for our sellers. This team's work is critically important for building our vision of the future!

You will:

• Build thoughtful and creative features in our Point of Sale applications that help sellers manage their orders, all in one place!

• Collaborate with other Android, iOS, Front End, and Server engineers from across the organization.

• Work with product managers and designers to help shape and refine the mobile order management experience.

• Hold yourself and your teammates to the highest standard of engineering excellence.

• Help shape the future of our codebase by building flexible, extendable, and reusable components.

You have:

• 1+ years of industry experience

• Proficiency in native Android development using standard tools and frameworks.

• Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java (we use a mix of both).

• A passion for building mobile products at all levels – from the low-level architectural decisions to the individual pixels.

• A desire to build products that our merchants will depend on every day to run their business.

• [Bonus] Experience building, or even using, order management systems for sellers.
