Job Description
We’re looking for a Lead / Senior Software Engineer on the Data Inventory Enablement team, nested within Security & Privacy Foundations. Our mission is to make it easier to understand data across its lifecycle at Block through easy automation and tooling.
You should expect to:
Evaluate, prototype, and integrate 3rd party solutions at scale
Design and develop tools used by engineers and analysts as part of their everyday workflows
Collaborate with other engineering teams to build solutions that are useful, reusable, and guided by internal customer preferences and feedback
Qualifications
Some qualifications you may have:
6+ years of software engineering experience
A high bar for writing quality scalable, robust, and testable code
Willingness to learn new technologies or languages
Ability to cut across services, infrastructure, or frameworks in novel ways to achieve security and privacy goals
A desire to perform and grow technically as an engineer or engineering leader
Strong communication skills
As a bonus, you may have experience or interest in:
Integrating one or multiple vendor solutions at scale
Data inventory, catalog, discovery, lineage and/or classification systems at scale
Developing or maintaining services or processes to meet data governance needs
Building easy-to-use internal tools and frameworks that remain useful over time
