Employee Communications Lead, Cash App

  • Full-time

Company Description

It all started with an idea at Square in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic app, bringing a better way to send, spend, invest, and save to our millions of monthly active users. We want to make the world’s relationship with money more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. This is our mission, and it’s why working at Cash App means so much more than a job.

Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward creativity, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and we’ve got offices and remote teammates across the globe. Our offices are great, but many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

  • Support executive visibility, including company-wide All Hands and internal announcements, as needed (in partnership with our Experience and Engagement Lead); work closely with the Head of Performance and Development to coach the leadership team on communication-specific initiatives, including presentation training.

  • Concept, craft and deliver compelling communications for Cash Leads for internal events and employee engagements (everything from briefing materials to scripts and presentations to talking points and Q&As); support external communications on occasion, including select speaking engagements.

  • Proactively and reactively manage opportunities tied to key cultural moments and integration with our employee networks.

  • Support Employee Communications & Engagement operations, including cross-functional coordination (with a focus on Talent Brand and Design partnerships).

  • Develop and grow a team, including managing the internal narrative lead, in an effort to help surface storytelling tied to our Cash and People Lead strategic priorities.

Qualifications

You have:

  • A passion for employee-first storytelling with a keen ability to uncover and shape a narrative.

  • 12-plus experience in agency or in-house communication-specific roles, with at least 5 years of experience in employee-focused roles and working regularly in an advisory capacity with executives. Experience in external communications/corporate communications preferred.

  • Experience managing and growing a team.

  • Excellent writing skills combined with speed, flexibility and attention to detail; ability to understand and contribute to editorial planning across multiple platforms and an ability to turn complex ideas into stories.

  • Ability to develop strategies and recommendations based on data and trends; regularly incorporate learnings into your creative process and output.

  • Experience working in a large team, articulating ideas across levels, managing differing points of view, influencing others while maintaining relationships -- you’re a collaborator!

  • High aptitude for creative thinking, balanced against bottom-line business needs.
