Job Description

Block is looking for a People Operations Compliance Senior Specialist / Lead to join our Global People Operations team to help support and leapfrog ahead of Block's growth. Reporting to the International People Operations Lead, you will be hands-on and responsible for overlooking People Operations procedures relating to compliance.

You'll partner "horizontally" across multiple teams, understand HR Compliance needs across multiple regions and create long-term solutions that can withstand the test of time and growth.

*This is a full-remote role. However, we would strongly prefer to hire in Ireland. We would also be open to hire in the UK, Germany, Netherlands or Sweden.

You Will:

  • Understand HR Compliance matters in the International markets

  • Identify people compliance gaps and inconsistencies and collaborate towards improved and more productive practices that improve People team's compliance.

  • Operationalize HR processes that meet country specific compliance needs

  • Work with partner teams (such as People Centers of excellence teams, legal, payroll) when new programs arise

  • Support queries relating to compliance, audit and due diligence specific projects in this area

  • Work with our internal legal team to validate compliance requirements

  • Be a DRI for all People Operations related compliance projects. Collaborate and administer different compliance efforts and projects

  • Implement compliance initiatives and templates that can be utilized by people operations team members

  • Work with the People Systems team to create solutions in relation to compliance needs and projects, including automation and reporting

  • Work with the People Operations Leads, suggest and promote improvements on initiatives to ensure we remain compliant.

  • Work with global teams across varying time zones across our APAC, EMEA and American markets.

  • Monitor and understand legislation in countries and states where we have entities

Qualifications

You Have:

  • HR operational experience in several HR areas (e.g., Benefits, Compensation, Immigration)

  • BA/BS degree and 4+ years of HR experience with operational, project management, or program management activities

  • Experience implementing processes that scale

  • A propensity to partner with others at all levels around the world

  • The instinct to create personal and professional stretch goals and meet them

  • Team player who can jump in and support the team on a variety of topics and tasks

  • Experience in HR Compliance or a People Operations role that included compliance

  • Understanding of HR laws in the international markets

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Broad experience with software tools and systems, including Workday

  • Experience at a growth-stage tech company
