Job Description

The Hardware Team designs, builds, and sells millions of loved products each year that empower our sellers to run their businesses effectively. From the innovative first reader that allows anyone to take a credit card payment on their phone to our more recent integrated point of sale systems that are more similar to phones and tablets.

In this role, you’ll lead the Hardware Product Analytics and Data Science Team. This growing 6-person team brings data into our products by enabling smart features, guiding product design decisions, and helping our operations and marketing teams run effectively. In addition, this team is responsible for using analytics, engineering, automation, and machine learning to make our data and its insights accessible to our Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations teams. 

You and your team will: 

  • Enable engineering, product, and operations teams to make data driven decisions.

  • Use data to bring intelligent features like product recommendations and proactive troubleshooting into our product. 

  • Partner with our marketing and distribution channel teams to improve effectiveness and efficiency through establishing metrics, measurement, modeling, automation and testing.

  • Work with our operational team to ensure continued supply of high quality products.

  • Own the Hardware Product Analytics and Data Science Team’s roadmap including improving capabilities, infrastructure and tools.

  • Plan, build out, and maintain critical data infrastructure alongside our dedicated Data Engineering Team. 

  • Communicate analysis and insights to high-level stakeholders and executives in verbal, visual, and written media.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Proven ability to build and lead a team of Product Analysts and Data Scientists.

  • 6+ years of experience in quantitative analytics, data science, and analytical consulting

  • Experience applying analytics and data science techniques to business, product, marketing and operational problems

  • Expert with SQL, Python, and/or other analytics languages/tools and visualization

  • Experience leading data science infrastructure strategy and implementation. Familiarity with data warehouse design, development and best practices

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
