Job Description
As the Data Protection Officer for TIDAL, you'll have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on global projects affecting privacy, data protection and security. You will partner with our InfoSec, procurement, engineering, product and other teams to advise on data uses while managing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. As we expand our offerings, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact. You will report to the Privacy Counsel Lead.
You will:
Help with the development and negotiation of data sharing agreements and data transfer agreements
Ensure that data subject access requests are logged and responded to within the prescribed periods
Work with teams on maintenance and management of data inventories and data retention implementation
Prepare and maintain data protection program documentation including personal data records of processing, Data Protection Impact Assessments, data incident record, and conduct periodic compliance assessments of these
Monitor country-specific regulatory activities to ensure awareness of changes in regulatory environment
Help with incident and data breach responses (including evaluating notification requirements)
Help develop and maintain policies, standards, playbooks, and trainings
Support ongoing measurement and auditing on the effectiveness of the privacy program, both internally and by third-party vendors
Identify and implement appropriate privacy awareness and training resources
Qualifications
You have:
Prior experience serving as a DPO for a Norwegian-headquartered company
10+ years of combined, relevant experience in law firms, governmental agencies, and/or in-house legal departments
Experience providing pragmatic and actionable advice to clients on legal risks and obligations under privacy and data security laws in the European Economic Area
Fluency in Norwegian
Advised on and managed internal policies and procedures on data use, security, and privacy
Technophilia, and a desire to learn and understand technology as well as you understand the law. Experience advising on data uses in artificial intelligence and machine learning a plus.
Experience driving, prioritizing, and managing cross-functional initiatives
Experience advising on privacy and data security in commercial transactions
Even better experience at a global technology company is a plus
