Square is looking for a Business Affairs and Licensing Manager to join our new TIDAL licensing team. You will help secure and amend distribution agreements globally with record labels, distributors and music publishers; music clearances for audiovisual content; contract management and tracking. You will also help manage TIDAL's relationships with record labels and music publishers. You will report to our Director of Business Affairs and Licensing, and work with other teams such as Finance, Royalties, Content, Editorial, Artist Relations, and Business Partnerships. As we expand our offerings and further enhance TIDAL's service and products, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact. A creative legal mind with music and business affairs experience, and a sense of adventure are all required. This role can be in a remote location.

You will:

• Help secure agreements with key label and publishing partners and amending agreements with existing partners to grow and retain our music licensing coverage for TIDAL
• Organize and manage past and current US and international label and publishing agreements in the United States and internationally, including the preparation of contract summaries of the license agreements and tracking our different rights and obligations under such agreements
• Respond to label and publisher inquiries
• Work with partners across the organization to help identify ways to better support TIDAL's label and publishing partners
• Create systems and processes to help scale a business operating in 50+ countries
• Advise on music intellectual property rights matters and other projects as needed by the Business Affairs and Licensing team

You have:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the music industry
• BA/BS degree in a relevant field, required
• A deep passion for music and an interest in all forms of digital content
• Experience with digital platforms, music licensing for digital platforms
• Familiarity with copyright law and legal issues relating to music licensing and digital distribution
• Project management experience
• Experience with Google G-suite, Microsoft Suite, DocuSign, contract management systems, and project management tools

• A JD degree
• Experience performing rights organizations and foreign collection societies
