Job Description
The Square Australia Sales team is looking for a Manager, Business Development Representatives to join our growing team in Melbourne. An experienced people manager with sales experience (specifically new business lead generation), you will lead a team of outbound lead generating Business Development Representatives and inbound Sales Development Representatives to deliver repeatable and profitable pipeline and develop your team into future Account Executives at Square. Your success will be measured by profit pipeline sourced and closed, and you will monitor and coach daily activity inputs (calls and emails), and work with Square Australia Sales leaders to ensure upmarket opportunities are closing.
You will build a successful team that generates success for our sellers and Square and use insights and deep Square product knowledge to educate and support your team members, understanding how our ecosystem of products can fit different types of businesses. Your team will work with Square sellers of all sizes, from small family run businesses to larger strategic partnerships. You will also be a brand ambassador for Square Australia and help find opportunities for Square to help Australian businesses grow. You will report to the Head of Sales Australia, and can be based anywhere on the east of Australia, in our Melbourne office or work from home.
You will:
Plan, organise, and manage lead generating BDRs and SDRs (>10) in Australia
Grow your team into high performing seller centric BDRs and SDRs, including coaching, hiring and training new team members
Develop creative ways to motivate your team to exceed targets
Ensure your team’s achievement of goals and work with Sales leadership on goal setting
Conduct weekly pipeline review and forecast meetings with team members
Use metrics to manage the team and individuals, tracking and sharing results with the Head of Sales Australia
Support direct reports by participating in outbound calls and shadowing, weekly 1:1s and attending prospect meetings
Maintain current knowledge of the global Square product ecosystem and how this may help large value Australian customers across different verticals to further grow their businesses
Represent Square and our product ecosystem in the Australian market
Keep up-to-date with the latest business, industry and product trends
Maintain current understanding of Australian and global Square sales processes
Maintain accurate sales data and documentation by using tools including Salesforce
Lead strategic projects to increase profit contribution
Become an integral part of Sales Leadership at Square
Qualifications
You have:
Passion for helping businesses of all sizes start, run and grow
Sales experience (specifically lead generation) in a metrics-driven, high-growth sales organisation with quarterly goals
People management experience, with experience hiring and developing team members
BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
Passion for technology and the industry Square operates in
Experience creatively identifying business opportunities with new ideas and concepts and reading prospective buyers
The ability to gather support from internal experts and external partners to position Square in the market
Genuine curiosity about people and business, and the ability to inspire passion in others
An interest in implementing feedback, and improving sales processes
