Job Description

Square Capital is looking for an experienced, inquisitive, and passionate Art Director to join our Banking creative team. You know how to get people excited about Square as a brand, and help them understand very simply and clearly how our Banking products work. You know how to take raw, complicated content and make it digestible and visually compelling. You have experience working on brand, digital product, data-driven growth marketing, and go-to-market campaigns alike.

You will play an important role in the full-service Banking creative team, working with a range of disciplines including copy, design, technologist, research, and more. You’re curious, eager to experiment ways to improve, and seek to create work that inspires others.

  • Help develop art direction and visual design for brand content and marketing collateral to support Square Banking’s mission of providing banking tools for small businesses
  • Create compelling visuals that drive brand engagement and performance 
  • Design for go-to-market campaigns, lifecycle communications, and programs to ensure there’s consistency with every touchpoint
  • Harness research to inform solutions that balance audience needs with business goals
  • Work with a group of writers, strategists, creative technologists, producers, product managers, marketers
  • ​​​​​​Adapt to last-minute asks and changing timelines

Qualifications

5+ years experience in a design role
B.S. or B.A. degree in related field
A digital portfolio, resume 
Excellent aesthetic and design skills
Ability to be detailed in your execution but flexible in your approach
Ability to push a brand forward with fresh, evolving, creative ideas

Nice, but not required:
Video or motion experience
3D modeling or illustration
Experience working on brands with broad/diverse audiences
Knowledge of coding or animation
Knowledge of banking tools and financial products
Hybrid of marketing and product environments
