The Automation organization enables and measures the unified customer journey, intelligently empowering customers through Square's ecosystem of products. Customer Connections Engineering is an essential team within the Automation organization that helps scale and optimize the Customer Success and Account Management organizations through development of intelligent tools and integrations of data, services and third-party tools. We are a rapidly growing engineering team that makes a significant impact both on hundreds of team-members in human powered channels as well as our existing sellers.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced technology leader (just like you!) to lead scaling automation and efficiency-generating solutions, help develop and drive our technical vision, and further expand the team of accomplished engineers. You will use your Engineering leadership and experience with automating and enhancing human-powered functions to make a holistic impact on Square and provide important capabilities to grow and provide excellent service to our seller base.
You will:
Become the expert in automating and enhancing human-powered functions (Customer Success and Account Management); understand the landscape of data, services and tools
Guide long-term thinking and innovation in an ambiguous and rapidly-changing space
Translate technology learning between human-powered channels to accelerate their growth and efficiency
Collaborate with product management, senior leadership, and your peers, to develop the strategy for the future connections with customers; reporting to the Automation Lead for Square
Hire and develop software engineers, helping them grow and support the roadmap
Develop efficient processes, ensuring the engineering team is operating with high velocity, ownership, and self-accountability
Qualifications
You have:
6+ years of engineering experience (or equivalent)
2+ years of experience managing a team of experienced engineers
Experience with the tools that power automation of human-powered channels such as CRM/Salesforce, messaging platforms, omnisearch, customer routing, workforce management, telecommunications, and chatbots.
Experience with development of web applications and working cross functionally with designers, product managers
