Square is looking for a passionate Senior Designer to join our creative marketing team.

This is a hands-on creative role with tremendous opportunity to impact and influence one of our main vertical products, Square for Retail or Square Appointments. You will be a part of a creative team that touches a variety of projects, including campaigns, photoshoots, print, digital ads, social media, performance marketing, product tutorials, online and offline collateral and much more. Our team exists to tell the best possible stories of our products and ecosystem, so that our sellers can empower their businesses to excel and grow.

You are conceptual, can share and sell ideas, have a refined aesthetic and design sensibility and find varying styles an opportunity to extend and grow your skills. You sweat the smallest details, understand what it takes to develop and work on great creative work, excel in cross-discipline collaboration, and have experience translating strategies into great brand experiences.

Qualifications

You will:

Concept and development of marketing materials such as paid, email, social, campaign landing pages, print and OOH
Work with partners in Marketing, Strategy, Product, Photo, Copy and Design Technology
Elevate and evolve the brand within overall Square guidelines
Help with in Art Direction for Photo and Video shoots
Create video and motion graphics style frames, exhibition graphics, interface design, visualization, presentation design, information graphics, branding and print graphics
Craft graphic elements, mood boards, and visual treatments
Present design concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders
Work on creative briefs and ensure they are delivered on time and on strategy

You have:

4+ years of industry experience
Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma
Experience with multiple styles of design and illustration
Experience in photo/video art direction
Mastery and experimentation of design fundamentals (color, typography, composition, and layout)
Knowledge of best practices in usability and UX
Understand the opportunities and limitations of the modern web
Experience leading projects through design process

Even better:

Animation/motion graphics knowledge in software such as After Effects or Cinema 4D
Desire to work in a start-up environment, where iteration and learning is encouraged
Interest in working with small businesses in the beauty, personal care, fitness, or retail sector
